Get Totally Kissable Lips with Avon!

From Left to Right: Racy Red, Berry Smooch, and Deep Orchid

Confession: I may love lip balms and glosses, but I'm not real big on lipsticks. It's probably a combination of the fact that I often forget to reapply them once I leave the house and usually resort to layering on either a balm or gloss {basically because you don't need a mirror for that}, plus the fact that my hubby doesn't seem to be a huge fan of lipstick {I'm affectionate and I think he cringes at the thought of being plastered in lipstick kisses}. However, now that I've tried Avon's Totally Kissable Lipstick, I may be a lipstick convert AND he's a fan too!

Tea Time is Golden with Alvita Turmeric Root Tea

In my new health/fitness kick, one of the habits that I've developed is drinking tea daily. Not only do I find it relaxing, depending on the tea, it also comes with certain health benefits. I always like to have a variety of different teas on hand, and one of the latest I've been trying is this Organic Turmeric Root Tea from Alvita {which I received in order to review}.

As one of the oldest single-herb tea brands in the United States, Alvita understands that herbs are gifts from the earth and takes this stewardship seriously by offering carefully harvested teas in earth-friendly packaging. Hand-illustrations adorn boxes made using 100% recycled paperboard and the English, pillow-style tea bags are oxygen bleached, not chlorine treated. Alvita chooses only the highest quality organic, wild-crafted or cultivated botanicals. Each tea is labeled with individualized preparation instructions to provide the best Mother Nature has to offer.

Turmeric Root is a commonly used herb, most widely known for adding the bright yellow color to mustards and curry. Turmeric contains a substance known as curcumin, which acts as an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory. Curcumin appears to stimulate the production of bile by the gallbladder. Bile is necessary for your body to digest fats; a lack of adequate bile production can lead to indigestion, so drinking Turmeric tea can help with indigestion and associated symptoms like gas and abdominal bloating.

The tea has a very mild taste and is quite unique in appearance because of its golden color. It pairs well with honey as a sweetener (if that's your thing). And I won't go into details, but I can personally attest to the relief consumption of the tea can provide when experiencing digestional discomfort. What's your favorite brand a flavor of tea? What benefits have you noticed from drinking tea regularly? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...

April 2013 MAC Matters Purchase: Almost There!

Before I share what I purchased for this month's installment of MAC Matters, here's a brief recap of what this whole shindig is about:

This series is the brain child of the fabulous Pam of Pammy Blogs Beauty. She basically decided that instead of continuing a subscription to a beauty box service, she'd use the money ($21) to build a core collection of products from MAC Cosmetics. I read about it and immediately asked if I could do it with her.

Tan Safely with Jergens Natural Glow Products

Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer and Firming Daily Moisturizer

I've been talking about Jergens Natural Glow products for a few months now, so I hope the fact that I'm sharing yet again expresses to you lovelies how much I enjoy the line! And quite honestly, the two latest products that I've had the chance to review-the Foaming Daily Moisturizer and the Firming Daily Moisturizer-are my absolute favorites from the line!

Drink Yourself Beautiful! Ashieda's Beauty Nectar Takes US Anti-Aging Market By Storm (Sponsored Post)

Collagen drinks are internationally popular, and now thanks to Ashieda, "Beauty Nectar " is now available in the United States! Beauty Nectar by Ashieda is a unique nutri-cosmetic new to America, but the effectiveness of this product will definitely make it a household name before long. Beauty Nectar is a 100% natural beauty drink made of collagen, antioxidants, ceramide, resveratrol and vitamin C.

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream- Why I May Never Wear Foundation Again!

I think I voiced this before in a MABB Weekly Beauty Question post, but I'm pretty much terrified of foundation, so I tend not to wear it. It's a combination of not knowing how to pick the right color, not being sure how to apply it so that it looks flawless or natural, and lack of practice (or need for) using it. But I'm getting to an age where I could benefit from some sort of coverage, plus it looks odd to step out of the house with my eyes done and my lips on, but nothing on my face! So I accepted the opportunity to try out Smashbox Cosmetics new Camera Ready CC Cream...

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Eye Cream

I literally had a conversation with the hubby last night {well... not really a conversation, more like me babbling about something I knew full and well he didn't care a bit about-sometimes I have to say stuff out loud so it will stick in my head better} about how even though I don't really have issues with fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, or dark circles around my eyes {don't hate, because trust me, I do have some skin issues-just not those}, I'm late to the game using eye creams because really, you should start taking preventative, anti-aging measures in your twenties. All this to say, I've been dabbling in eye creams lately, and I have to tell you, I think this one {that I was sent to review} from Burt's Bees is pretty swell!

Fab Five Friday: Soap & Glory Faves!

Fab Five Soap & Glory Faves!

Soap & Glory is a British beauty brand, founded in 2006 by Marcia Kilgore, the genius behind Bliss Spa. I love that she has incorporated not only her vast beauty knowledge and experience in the field into Soap & Glory, the line is full of fun, funny cheekiness {the name of the first product launched is Sexy Mother Pucker-a lip plumping lip gloss} that is bound to instantly put a smile on your face. And who doesn't look AND feel better with a smile on their face!?!

Fab Five Friday: My Spring ShoeDazzle Wishlist!

Spring ShoeDazzle Wishlist

I signed up for ShoeDazzle ages ago, but have yet to make a purchase. I don't know if it's just me, but I've noticed a distinct difference in the selection offered from the site since Rachel Zoe became involved with company. With each email they send out {and they come sort of frequently, but I don't mind}, I see more and more shoes that I would actually consider purchasing-not only have the styles offered seem to have improved, the quality seems to be much better as well! I received an email this morning with some suggested selections and fell so head over heels {ha!} with a couple pairs featured, that I had to check out the site again and see what else ShoeDazzle has to offer. These are my top 5 favorites {and trust me, it was super difficult to narrow it down} for the spring and summer!

My {Current} Favorite Night Time Moisturizer: Melvita Honey Body Cream

Melvita Ultra Nourishing Body Balm

This is another one of those products that's been sitting here for longer than I care to say and I can't figure out what took me so long to give it a try because it is SPECTACULAR! It is actually one of Melvita's best sellers and I totally understand why! Melvita Ultra-Nourishing Body Balm (MSRP $34 for 5.2 fl. oz)  is one of the rare products that I've received for review but will come out of pocket to repurchase once it runs out.

Spring Fashion and Beauty feat. Jergens Natural Glow (Sponsored Post)

Spring Fashion and Beauty feat. Jergens Natural Glow!

I'm not gonna lie- I sort of hate the winter! I am so happy that Spring has sprung (though I realize it is still being a bit temperamental in some areas). One of the first things that I do when the season changes, is switch out the clothes in my closet: I bid my winter wardrobe a bon voyage and heartily welcome the lighter fare of my spring/summer clothes. Two of my absolute favorite pieces in my Spring wardrobe are maxi dresses/skirts and sandals! I also love the bright colors that tend to trend in the warmer weather seasons, so I've highlighted all of those things in my ideal spring outfit set above!

Today's Smell Good: VS Fantasies Forever Pink

VS Fantasies Forever Pink Body Wash, Fragrance Mist, and Body Lotion

I guess you could say I go through certain obsessions in cycles. Case in point: I switch back and forth between obsessively collecting scents from Bath and Body Works and then switch to Victoria's Secret  {and I don't do it on a small scale-I have to have the trifecta as displayed above}. Apparently I've been on my Bath and Body Works kick for about 6-7 years now, with the frequency with which I make purchases escalating somewhat in the past 2 years or so. But I think that I've exhausted the scent collection from my beloved BBW {well, for body fragrance at least, I'm still quite obsessed with their 3-Wick Candles and Wallflowers... and I may be enticed to the store form time to time when Limited Edition/Seasonal collections appear}. But now, I'm making the transition over to Victoria's Secret...

Loved By Kids of All Ages! (Well, At Least 3 Ages)-A Cut The Rope Toy Review

Cut the Rope is an uber popular mobile game app that apparently I was just not cool enough to be aware of . I say this because I was going to pass up on the opportunity to review the new line of toys based on the game, when Peyton saw the email over my shoulder {nosy girl!} and said something to the effect of "OMG! Om Nom! I LOVE him!!!!" So I agreed to review a few things... you know...for the girls...

Om Nom's Playground- Quick Set (Windmill): All 3 of the girls loved playing with this-we had peace and quiet for a good 30 minutes while they all played with it. Unfortunately, they scattered all the pieces around the house shortly after that, so this is the only picture I was able to get :(

Own Skincare Day Lip Treatment May Be the Most Unique Lip Balm You've Ever Seen!

Own Skincare Day Lip Treatment with SPF 10

So... I'm obsessed with lip balm {I may have to show y'all my stash some day just so you can understand the magnitude of said obsession}, so I don't really turn down opportunities to review new lip balms. I was even more excited to try this one, it's from the relatively new line, Own Skincare. I mean how could I pass on a lip product created by skin care innovators {the line features an interesting ingredient-it is the only brand in the US that has a patent to use Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), a clinically-tested natural compound derived from the safflower plant, that has been proven to help skin retain moisture, activate cell renewal and repair collagen structure}. So baby soft lips, here I come!

Sexy Smooth Legs in 3 Coconutty Steps!

Shaving Essentials

I'm not gonna lie, prior to being sent these products to try, I was pretty set in my ways when it came to my shaving routine. I leaned towards a specific razor, preferred to a certain shave cream (or creamy body wash in a pinch), and always coated my gams in the same moisturizer afterwards. To say these have been a game changer for me would be an understatement...

Reviva Labs Problem Skin Mask

Reviva Labs Problem Skin Mask

I've had this mask for a while {Reviva Labs graciously sent it out to me to give it a go}, but I broke it out for the first time last night. I think because I'm a glasses wearer, I hesitate to use masks that often {though ideally, I would like to use one at least once a week} - sometimes the thought of either being sightless for a measure of time or dealing with the mess of getting the mask on my glasses is just more trouble than it's worth to me {though I'll freely, yet shamefully, admit that this may be a touch of laziness on my part; it's not a good trait but I'm working on it}.

Subtle Sexiness in a Rollerball...

Pure Vanilla Forever Fragrance Oil Long-Lasting Roll-On

As much as I've enjoyed the products I've been sent to review from LAVANILA Laboratories, I have to admit I was shocked at how much I love the Pure Vanilla Forever Fragrance Oil Long-Lasting Roll-On (MSRP $25.00).

A Guess Girl Spring! (Spring Fragrance Roundup)

A Guess Girl Spring

Guess Girl is the latest fragrance from the fashion house and is one of my favorite new fragrances I've encountered in a while. Not only is the packaging beautiful and feminine, the fragrance within is the perfect mix of girly/feminine and sexy/sophisticated. In fact, I was so inspired by this vibrant fruity/floral fragrance {that I was sent to review}, I put together this all GUESS set. This is my ideal fashion accompaniment for this scent. The only thing missing is a pair of hoop earrings and a gorgeous handbag-this outfit is perfect for a lunch date or girls' night out!

Curly Girl Chronicle: Luxor's The Wet Brush

Luxor's The Wet Brush (MSRP $14.00) was designed to "eliminate tangles quickly and painlessly." It also massages the scalp! It can be used on wet or dry hair and is suitable for all hair types. It features a soft, rubberized non-slip grip for a secure, comfortable hold and the flexible bristles detangle hair with ease.

April's Julep Maven "Unboxing" Is Mighty!

Disclaimer: I am not a nail blogger or professional (so sometimes I color outside of the lines and my cuticles look a bit ragged). I am merely a girl who LOVES nail polish!

This is only the second time that I've deviated from my "It Girl" style profile with Julep in the 14 months I've been subscribed. Both times I've opted to try another profile, I've been enticed by a new beauty product; the first time it was a bottle of Argan Oil and this time it was the Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum. I figured that with a) my already overflowing polish collection {I'm not complaining or saying that I won't continue to add to it, but I do need to figure out a better storage/display option}, and b) my desire to do more nail polish posts here {which means that my digits need to be in tiptop shape}, picking a package that included 2 {instead of my normal 3} polishes and this intriguing serum was the best choice.

Get Spring Worthy Legs (and Everything Else) with CeraVe!

Being a women is hard sometimes! Guys will never understand everything we go through to keep our skin pretty, soft, and smooth. Did you know that skin's natural barrier is damaged regularly-every time we take a hot shower or bath and shave? This damage can cause your skin to look dry, cracked, and ashy. With the temperature rising {in some areas at least} signaling the hemlines will be rising very soon, crocodile textured legs are a no no! So what is a girl to do?

CeraVe Renewing SA Cream

Go Nuts and Toss Those Chips!

I've shared the beginning of my weight loss journey {and thank you so much for all of your support and words of encouragement} and a big part of making a real change in my health is changing my diet. I LOVE food and am constantly snacking. This in of itself is not bad, but I was making the wrong choices for snacks: processed, junk food that was high in empty calories, fat, and sodium. So I have to learn not to reach for my old standbys {potato chips and  assorted snack puffs}when I get bored or emotional AND I need to find healthier substitutes for when snacking is appropriate {like when I'm actually hungry in between meals}. Enter Sincerely Nuts...
