April's Julep Maven "Unboxing" Is Mighty!

Disclaimer: I am not a nail blogger or professional (so sometimes I color outside of the lines and my cuticles look a bit ragged). I am merely a girl who LOVES nail polish!

This is only the second time that I've deviated from my "It Girl" style profile with Julep in the 14 months I've been subscribed. Both times I've opted to try another profile, I've been enticed by a new beauty product; the first time it was a bottle of Argan Oil and this time it was the Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum. I figured that with a) my already overflowing polish collection {I'm not complaining or saying that I won't continue to add to it, but I do need to figure out a better storage/display option}, and b) my desire to do more nail polish posts here {which means that my digits need to be in tiptop shape}, picking a package that included 2 {instead of my normal 3} polishes and this intriguing serum was the best choice.

The theme this month was "Turn on the Brights" and there were so many pretty, electric hues to choose from. I actually contemplated upgrading to get the whole collection, but settled on the "Bombshell" style profile instead. It included:

Janel

Julep Nail Color in Janel: described by Julep as a "pink raspberry frost." I'd say that that description is pretty dead on! There's a very subtle shimmer in the polish and a deep saturated richness to the shade that differentiates it from other pinks in my collection.

Ally

Julep Nail Color in Ally: described by Julep as an "electric blueberry frost." It is the most beautiful shade of true royal blue, with a shot of electric shimmer, that my camera could not quite capture. I'm a big fan of blue polish and this has to rank in my top 5 fave polishes-I wish that I could find the same exact color in a creme finish...

The Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum

The Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum was what motivated me to switch profiles this month. The packaging is sleek and chic, and I have yet to be disappointed by any of Julep's beauty/nail products so I wanted to give it  a try...

Here's what Julep has to say about this new goody:

and for those of you that are interested in that type of thing, here are the ingredients:

I'm not even going to pretend like I know what any of those ingredients purport to do for my nails and cuticles, but I trust Julep! It arrived just in time too; I had just trimmed down all of my nails {as you can see in the swatch photos}, so I'm excited to see how daily use of the serum will help them out! I'll keep you posted. I used 2 thin coats of each shade {on top of Julep's Base Coat and their Freedom Polymere Top Coat} and was easily able to reach full opacity. If you're interested in becoming a Julep Maven, please feel free to use my referral link: http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/60079/ . Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Until next time...
