Introducing NEW Beetology Beverages: Nutrition-Packed (DELICIOUS) Juices Made with Beets!

Every year, consumers are getting more and more picky about what’s on (or not on) their food labels. ‘Clean’ foods with added health benefits are a top priority. And the food world is excited about one of nature’s untapped nutritional powerhouses: beets. In her article for WebMD about the benefits of beet juice, leading nutritionist Kathleen M. Zelman, MPH, RD, LD wrote, “Most lists of ‘super foods’ don't include beetroot juice, but maybe they should.”

Kayco is proud to introduce Beetology, a new line of craft beverages made from one of nature’s untapped nutritional powerhouses, beets. These sweet, organic, cold-pressed juices are a delicious choice for today’s health-minded consumer, and they’re leading the pack of good-for-you products that offer all the ‘clean’ attributes shoppers are demanding today. {Product provided for review/feature consideration}

Go Nuts and Toss Those Chips!

I've shared the beginning of my weight loss journey {and thank you so much for all of your support and words of encouragement} and a big part of making a real change in my health is changing my diet. I LOVE food and am constantly snacking. This in of itself is not bad, but I was making the wrong choices for snacks: processed, junk food that was high in empty calories, fat, and sodium. So I have to learn not to reach for my old standbys {potato chips and  assorted snack puffs}when I get bored or emotional AND I need to find healthier substitutes for when snacking is appropriate {like when I'm actually hungry in between meals}. Enter Sincerely Nuts...

Let Them Eat Voots! AKA: A Giveaway For the Little Ones

My kids may be a bit of an anomaly  but other than when they are infants and toddlers and routinely spit out their iron drops {yep, all three of them did}, they're pretty good about taking vitamins. Mind you, most kids are good with fruity vitamins that are reminiscent of candied goodies, so it's not exactly shocking that they had no problem taking them.

"Now That's Some High Quality H2O!" AKA: Hint Water (A GMYMO Post)

Confession time: I don't like water. I try to force myself to drink it, because I know that I need it and it's good for me and all, but the fact is... I really don't like it. Every day we go through the same routine to make our skin look beautiful – wash, moisturize, and apply makeup. But in order to make our skin really beautiful, we have to go beyond our regular routine and learn about the functions of skin and the many ways to keep it healthy. This includes staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water. While this used to be a huge struggle for me, it has gotten easier recently, and one of the reasons why is Hint Water...

Brooke Burke's Healthy Snack Behind the DWTS Scene! AKA: Getting My Yummy Mummy On Inspiration

I decided to catch up on Dancing With the Stars and when Lo saw Brooke Burke, she got super excited and said "Look mommy! It's the lady from Modern Family!" (Otherwise known as Sofia Vergara). That is a total compliment!

Anyone that follows her career, can't help but respect Brooke Burke's work ethic. But I think she's particularly admirable to me as a busy mom. How she manages to handle her hectic schedule AND look that fabulous, boggles my mind.

I've watch her videos for Modern Mom on YouTube, so I know that she works out regularly and partakes in a healthy diet with a big focus on moderation. Those are excellent habits to emulate and seeing the snack she chose to enjoy while behind the scenes of Dancing With the Stars (Quaker Oats new Real Medleys  Summer Berry Oatmeal)  helped me to realize how truly doable certain lifestyle changes can be for me too...

Until next time...
