March Beauty Favorites

March Beauty Favorites

Peyton has inspired me to tinker around with Polyvore a bit more and I thought that in addition to sharing her monthly favorites, I'd like to share some of mine as well!

So, I'm still an amateur at the Polyvore thing, so I have no idea how to get the mini listing below in the same order that I gave the items in the picture above... But I guess it's not that big of a deal for now since they're not numbered by rank. So here are {some of} my monthly favorites for March 2013...

Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee (MSRP $6.49)- You've probably heard the hype about these uber pretty, super moisturizing lip butters from Revlon. Creme Brulee is the perfect nude shade for me and I love how effortless the application is {no mirror required}. And while I don't feel it is a suitable substitute for your fave lip balm, it is friendlier to the lips than most lipsticks I've encountered.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Lights, Camera, Lashes! (MSRP $19)- I received a mini size of this glorious, lash-boosting mascara with a kit that I purchased from the brand a while back. I had heard so many rave reviews about the mascara, but I was still shocked with the results I got when I used it. Though, I'm currently on an unofficial mascara "no buy" {I have more unopened mascara than a little bit in my stash}, this will definitely be the next mascara that I purchase. If you're looking for a formula to dramatically darken and lengthen your lashes and hold the curl all day, you should definitely check this out!

MAC Cosmetics Paint Pot in Painterly (MSRP $18.50)- Another cult classic, I've had this cream eye shadow base/color in my collection for quite a while now, but I found that I reached for it even more this past month. It takes no time at all to apply, I don't have to worry about it creasing on my greasy lids, and it's just the thing to help me look put together but not too done up. I spread it from lashline to brows and simply add my signature black winged liner and a bit of mascara. If I wanna get super fancy, I'll add a line of colored liner right above it {I favor various shades of blue}, and perhaps a bit of nudey-brown shadow to accentuate my crease. It stays put for hours and is the perfect shade for brightening my whole face and making my dark brown eyes pop.

Jordana Cosmetics INCOLOR Fabuliner Liquid Eye Liner in Black (MSRP $2.99)- Can we just start with that price tag! $3 for one of the BEST liquid eye liners I have ever encountered {and I am a bonafide eye liner junkie}. It's super thin felt tip makes application a breeze and the ink is super black. It's opaque in one stroke and from what I can tell, there is plenty of product to use. The only slight drawback is that it is not waterproof and if you are prone to rubbing your eyes, this may not be the liner for you. But I LOVE it, and reach for it just about every time I go to apply my makeup.

Joie Folle De Joie Eau De Parfume (MSRP $98)- I had the distinct pleasure of winning this beauty from Who What Wear a few months back. I was immediately struck by the beautiful, yet simple packaging and was excited simply to have it displayed on my makeup table. But the fact is the fragrance is just as lovely as the packaging: bright, fresh, chic, and feminine. Though I have quite a few scents to choose from, I find myself reaching for this most often, especially since I find that it layers well with just about any body wash/body lotion combination I use. Plus my hubby likes it too!

Neutrogena Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel in Pear & Green Tea (MSRP $6.99)- (Full disclosure: I was sent this product for the review purposes) I had to include this in my favorites because not only did I love the fresh scent and non drying formula, so did my hubby! Quite honestly, he used it more than I did! I was literally shocked to step in the shower one morning and find that it was all gone. One of my favorite things about the product is the convenient pump dispenser.

Josie Maran Cream Blush in Sunrise (MSRP $22)- (This was sent to me ages ago for the purpose of review) I've recently found that while I can step out the house without foundation, I do look better with a bit of color on my cheeks. This cream blush is perfect for adding a bit of natural looking color to my face. I really love that it contains really great and good-for-your-skin ingredients like argan oil, organic pomegranate oil (a protective antioxidant for the skin), organic coconut oil (moisturizes the skin), and organic shea butter (to protect the skin). Plus the packaging is awesome; it's a gorgeous metallic rose gold and has a convenient little mirror inside. What's even more remarkable is that the packaging is made from biodegradable corn plastic!

Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia (MSRP $3.49)- Though it smells more like roasted marshmallows than vanilla and macadamia nuts {IMHO}, there is no debate over its vast moisturizing prowess. I keep this tin in a central location downstairs in our house, because during the day I often forget to reapply lip balm{to the detriment of my poor lips}. I can apply this once and it will literally last for hours {or until I eat something}. It feels silky and smooth on the lips and leaves a lovely {not at all greasy} sheen. I like it so much, I had to go back and get the other scents in the line!

Do you see any of your favorites in the bunch? What were you loving during the month of March? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...
