Confession: this is the 3rd {or possibly 4th} time I've attempted to write this post. I've had a hard time with it because it hits particularly close to home for me right now: my mother is currently battling breast cancer. Any Modern Family viewers out there? Remember that episode when the entire family went to Disney Land and Gloria was super grumpy until Jay bought her a pair of Minnie Mouse slippers to wear to trek around the park? He came to the realization that the reason she was oftentimes cranky was directly tied to the fact that she was not comfortable in her high heel shoes. And any woman who has ever worn ill fitting footwear can attest to the fact that if your shoes are not comfortable, it can definitely make you irrationally irritable.

But who wants to trade comfort for style? I'd argue that most women would rather suffer through the pain of wearing five inch heels {and subject those around them to the subsequent foul mood} than wear shoes that were comfortable, but not quite fashionable {and there's statistical evidence below to support that hunch}. I can say this because I was one of those women! I'd pick a pair of high heels over more sensible flats any day... until I sprained my ankle earlier this summer. It's much better now {for a solid two weeks + I couldn't walk on it at all}, but I'm still not ready to wear my beloved heels. Enter Crocs , a brand well known for their comfortable footwear, but now with an added focus on being stylish as well!

I'd leave the house sans makeup before I left without jewelry! I have to have at least one pair of earrings on {though I prefer to be wearing two pairs; I have three piercings in both ears and my cartilage pierced in one of them}, my wedding ring, and a necklace. Without those three components, I might as well be naked. I keep it fairly simple when it comes to my earrings {especially since I'm usually wearing multiples} and my wedding ring is what it is, but when it comes to the necklaces I wear,  I like for them to have meaning. It was a style over load at Old Navy! I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit anxious over the prospect of having to do back to school shopping for TWO GIRLS, but with the great prices at Old Navy, there was nothing to be worried about! Now through August 14th, Old Navy is having a spectacular Back to School Sale-with items starting at $5! There are incredible savings on hoodies, tees, dresses (my personal favorites), and even uniforms. And did I mention that jeans start at $10?!?!


Since I controlled the reigns on this shopping excursion, I opted for the sweetest little sundress for Lo. I was also able to get her a 2 pairs of patterned skinny jeans and a couple of cute graphic tees-all for under $60! What I love about Old Navy is that even though I'm getting a great bargain, there is real quality in the clothes, so not only will they last until Lo grows out of them, I'll be able to pass them down to Kenzie when she gets older. Now that's really multiplying the savings!
