Arm Yourself bracelets

Be armed with energy and imagination when you wear our latest Arm Yourself bracelets from Satya Jewelry {sent for editorial consideration}. Featuring a serpent coiled around a smooth silk band, it adds instant color and playfulness to any outfit. 10% of proceeds will benefit Home of Hope in Africa, which creates an opportunity for sustained physical, educational and holistic well being for exploited girls in South Africa.

The Arm Yourself bracelet in Olive Green

I had the pleasure of receiving one of the beautiful bracelets in the shade Olive Green (as pictured above). The serpent represents energy and is gold plated over brass, wrapped around a beautiful silk cord. The bracelet is 2.25" in diameter, while the serpent extends 1.75". The bracelets retail for $48 (at satyajewelry.com) and are available in five other colors: mustard, rust, yellow, green, and turquiose.

I also go the chance to interview the designer behind these beautiful pieces, Satya, herself.

1. How did you get into jewelry design?

I always loved jewelry and grew up in a family of artists.  I could never draw but was very good working with my hands.  I started with beading early on as a hobby studied education and social work in college.  I was taking a little time off from social work and started working with a jewelry company, 3 years later satya jewelry was founded.

2. Why did you choose Home of Hope in Africa as your charitable collaboration?

My dear friend and yoga teacher Gurmukh, who travels the world teaching introduced us to the Home of Hope and has taught yoga to the girls there.  We have teamed up together and matched donations over the years.  Check out their website she is amazing and so are her girls.   She is the real deal completely devoted to helping the girls get off the streets and offer them an education.

3. What are the hottest jewelry/accessory trends for the fall?

Our trend at Satya Jewelry is our beautiful Fall Peacock collection featuring elegant silhouettes of feather like cast pieces with milky blue agate set stones.  The Satya girls is trending beauty and inspiration and looking more confident than ever. We used beautiful palates of blues along with facets of smoky gray all working with the fall 2013 pantones.
