The Kylie Effect!

The lips, the eyes, the hair! Kylie Jenner has definitely rocked a distinctive look in 2014. The Kardashian/Jenner clan tend to be very polarizing, but I have to admit, I think all the girls are beautiful! If you're interested in replicating Kylie's style, try these products from Smashbox, Lumene, Streekers, and Touchback to keep up with this Kardashian! {Products provided for review/feature consideration}

Protect Your Color with L'Occitane
{Product was sent by PR for review consideration}

We all know that L'Occitane carries a wide and wonderful selection of fragrance, skin care, and bath and body goods-but did you know they offer hair care as well? It's just as luxurious as the skin care I've been raving about lately {hello, Divine Lotion and Iris Angelica Sublime Essence}! Here's an overview of my favorite hair care line from the French luxury brand, the Aromachologie Radiance and Color Care Collection!

Heat Up Your Look This Summer with Streekers!

Now that I've made the leap to dye my normally very {very} dark tresses, I'm even more open to experimentation with color.  I love the look of chalking and admired the look of pink highlights on the likes of Demi Lovato, January Jones, Lauren Conrad. Come to think of it, I've always been a fan of off the wall touches of color, ever since Gwen Stefani started sporting them way back when. I can't go full on mermaid hair, so that's why I love Streekers {especially now that my hair is a little bit lighter than it has been in the past}..

Keeping it Red with John Frieda!

Keeping It Red with John Frieda!
The hair swatch on the right is similar to the color I have now. The two hairstyle pics are what I want to get to {it will be mine!}. The accessories/cosmetics are inspired by my love of red hair, and of course the John Frieda products that are helping me maintain!

I recently shared a post about my visit to the hair salon, which resulted in me having red hair-and I plan to keep it that way! It takes work to maintain hair color {especially red shades, as they tend to wash down the drain pretty swiftly}, so it's really important to me that I use products that will help protect, maintain, and prolong my new color {in addition to being good for my curls}. I've been infatuated with red hair since I was a little girl {my mother used to color her hair red and I remember going to the salon with her when she got it done}, and I'd been trying to achieve the perfect shade of red on my own since I was about 13 {I started with Herbal Essence semi permanent colors}, but have never been able to do it on my own.

Fair Haired Gals, Get Your Streek On!

It's been ages since I've dyed my hair and with the exception of 2 or 3 grays, I have a head full of very (very) dark tresses. I've grown to love my natural color and don't often wish to change it, but some of the latest trends have me itching for a change. I love the look of chalking and admired the look of pink highlights on the likes of Demi Lovato, January Jones, Lauren Conrad. Come to think of it, I've always been a fan of off the wall touches of color, ever since Gwen Stefani started sporting them way back when. And now that Spring is steadily approaching, I'm itching for some bright change again!

Streekers Totally Make Me Jelly...

Come to think of it, I've always been a fan of off the wall touches of color, ever since Gwen Stefani started sporting them way back when. Recently, Christina Aguilera transitioned the look for fall, by adding purple streaks to the tips of her blonde tresses.

Tracey Cunningham and Redken Color Your Summer

I have been infatuated with red hair since I was very little. I believe I was around 13 or 14 years old when my mother allowed me to use my first semi permanent hair rinse and for years following that I continued to experiment with different products to achieve the perfect shade of red for me. I dabbled in highlights and a little bit of blonde from time to time, but red was always my main objective; my hair was never entirely in it's natural hue until I was pregnant with Lo. That was about 5 years ago, and I haven't colored my hair in over 6 years (the hubby likes my hair exactly the way that it grows out of my head, so I'm okay with keeping it that way...for now). My hair is the same shade as my eyes-the darkest brown it can be, so dark it appears to be black until the sun hits it, allowing you to see its true richness. I have 2 gray hairs on my head (and one gray eyelash and a few grays in my eyebrows as well) and I sport them proudly (right now I view them as a badge of honor and as something that I have earned, though I do pluck the grays in my brow).

I still am fascinated by red hair and hair color in general, especially as I see the great advances in products, techniques, and shades lately. As is the case with most trends in fashion, the warm weather of the summer signals the time turn up the heat, even in hair color! This season, the most popular hair colors are golden brunettes, vibrant redheads and platinum blondes.  Moving away from the cooler brunette and red tones of last season, Tracey Cunningham, Celebrity Colorist and Redken Creative Consultant for Color has the latest in Spring/Summer hair color trends and professional haircolor products to achieve these trends and get the hottest looks for the season.

To make these Spring/Summer haircolor trends accessible, Redken is launching the newChromatics prismatic permanent haircolor that will result in 2X fortified hair.
