A Day In the Life: Batman Edition!

Originally, the hubby had a client scheduled for Saturday morning, so I thought I'd spend the morning at home with the lil bits, cleaning, scheduling and planning for the upcoming week, and catching up on some TV. Well, late Friday evening, said client called to reschedule, freeing up our Saturday to have some family fun. The forecast said that it was going to be 92 degrees out, so going back to Piedmont Park was definitely not an option. While we were contemplating what to do, the hubby got a call from a friend, and you'll never believe what we got the chance to do...

Um... yes. That is the actual, factual Batmobile (the one from the Chris Nolan movies, obvi)

A Day in the Life: Piedmont Park (Again)

We headed back down to Piedmont Park with the lil bits. We didn't quite make it for the Farmer's Market (sigh), but it was a gorgeous day nonetheless and we enjoyed a delicious picnic of fried chicken, cole slaw, and potato salad (it was my cheat day, and I only had a spoonful each of salad and slaw, and I NEVER eat the skin on my chicken and ALWAYS only have one breast piece). We didn't walk around the park as planned, but we enjoyed watching the girls run around (and around and around) with each other...

Summer Essentials Offer from So Cozy

I love the water so much, I was on the swim team in high school! So it should be no surprise that all 3 of my daughters take to the water like fish (even if it's just the bath water). Now that it's  finally the season of sun, surf, and scorching heat, we're all very thankful that there is a pool in our neighborhood. Today, we had the perfect, not too hot, just enough sun kind of day, so we made our first appearance at the pool of the season.

Peyton (who forgot to take off her glasses before getting in the pool), Kenzie (who refuses to make eye contact with the camera), and London (who wants to get in the water , but is petrified of getting her face wet)

We all had a blast, but then I realized that 3 little girls' heads in chlorinated pool water all summer long was bound to be a lot of work for mama, and I kind of wanted to yank them out of the pool until I could get them some swimming caps! But then I remembered some valuable information I found in an email, and I thought I share these hair saving tips with you lovelies as well!

London refused to get off of the stairs. Kenzie, on the other hand, was quite adventurous and wanted to spend the whole time neck deep and splashing in the pool <3

Remember the posts I did on Cozy Friedman and her book, Cozy's Complete Guide to Girl's Hair?  Well as an authority on children's hair care, Cozy has a few pieces of advice on how to preserve and protect your little one's hair from the damaging effects of chlorine and the sun's rays...

A Day in the Life: Red Bull Soapbox Race

Yesterday we returned to Piedmont Park (which is swiftly becoming one of my favorite places) for the Red Bull Soapbox Races. It was really kind of spectacular! There were SO many people there, but I didn't see an ounce of trouble or drama. Red Bull and beer were flowing copiously and there was such a wide variety of food trucks; I was slightly disappointed that we had brought our own provisions for a picnic lunch. C'est la vie!

There were so many fun and funny characters and inventive cars, and just the sheer amount of people made it difficult to focus and take pictures (especially since I was pushing a stroller and navigating through a massive crowd), so I didn't get as many good ones as I wanted to truly depict how much fun we had. But here's what I did get...

Mini Me Outift of the Week

I'm excited to bring this brand new, regular feature to Mama Fashionista! Weekly (or more often sometimes) I will post an outfit of the day featuring one of my gorgeous daughters. I'll also be discussing ways to keep your little ones looking designer chic on a shoestring budget! So without further adieu, here's London...

A Day in the Life (June 2, 2012)...

The view of the city from Piedmont Park (Atlanta, GA)

We spent the day in the park yesterday and it was so nice. We found the best parking spot ever right in front of the park, walked to Trader Joe's (ohmigoodness, Trader Joe's is beyond awesome!), then walked back to park and had a picnic with my parents and one of my brothers and his wife. A wonderful day was had by all and I thought I'd share some of the pictures with you lovelies! (And by that, I mean pictures of the lil bits because they are the only one's always camera ready)...

Fun Outdoors with eco-armour™ “outdoor” botanical insect repellent body spray & moisturizer

While I enjoy the beauty of nature, I'm not exactly what you'd consider the "outdoorsy" type. Mostly because I hate insects (some might say I have a bit of a phobia, but I digress). Despite my aversion to the great outdoors, as a mommy I want to foster an appreciation for nature and the desire to play out in the fresh air in my children. Unfortunately, I think I may have unintentionally passed on my great disdain for bugs to London (and I can honestly say unintentionally because I go to great lengths to put on a brave face when she is present and we are confronted with a fly, spider, etc.). I tried really hard to not make my fear her fear, but to no avail; she freaks the heck out EVERY time she even thinks she sees an insect out of the corner of her eye. Needless to say, convincing her to play (and stay) outside can be a hard fought battle.

That all kind of changed this weekend when we tried eco-armour™ “outdoor” botanical insect repellent body spray & moisturizer...

A Day in the Life (A Little Something Different)...

I thought I'd share a little bit of my life with you all. Nothing major; my hubby took the day off yesterday and we took the lil bits (London and Kensington) to the mall (The Mall of Georgia, to be exact) just to walk around and play in the big fountain they have out front. I got some really cute pictures and a video of them playing around so I thought I'd share. I keep trying to get my oldest (Peyton) in some of these shots, but she's at that age where she's uber camera shy, so that's a bit of a work in progress.

Kenzie is almost the polar opposite of London. Where London was a total ham from very early on, Kenzie blatantly avoids eye contact with the camera. She will literally run away and duck behind something when she sees a camera!

My hubby and my girls are the BEST parts of my life. I write about things that aid in improving superficial beauty, but my family helps me to remember what REAL beauty is: giving and receiving LOVE...

Until next time...
