For the Discerning Friend Who Has Everything-Give the Gift of Maestro Dobel Tequila!

photo source: Maestro Dobel

Everyone has at least one person in their lives that is IMPOSSIBLE to shop for. For me, it's my hubby and my dad: they both have caviar taste and I'm generally on a tuna fish budget. It makes it uber frustrated when it's time to buy gifts-I want to be able to impress them while thinking out of the box and not breaking the bank. That's a really hard combination! I know that I'm not alone in this conundrum though. Perhaps there's a man in your life with a taste for the finer things, or one that seemingly has everything. What can you possibly buy him that he will really appreciate? Obviously something with as much taste and understated elegance as them, yet something they do not yet possess: Maestro Dobel Tequila. {Product provided for consideration}

Maker's Mark AKA: A Very Manly Drink of the Week

Like most people, after a long stressful day, I enjoy putting my feet up and sipping on something a little more potent than the Sunny D in fridge. Truth be told, I’ve never been much of a whiskey drinker, but with my New Year’s resolution #5 being “trying new things” I decided to go outside my comfort zone. Perusing the aisles looking for a new brand of liquid relaxation to add to my favorites list, I asked the salesman for a good whiskey and he immediately directed me to Maker’s Mark.

Cookies and Creme Martinis with Pinnacle Vodka AKA: The Drink of the Week!

Last night I tried my hand at bar-tending and although in reality I’m an amateur, in my mind, I was Tom Cruise in Cocktail, dancing around the kitchen, defying gravity as bottles flew through the air (but obviously this was just going down in my imagination).  Unlike most Wednesday’s, which usually consist of me getting home after a long dull day, falling asleep after Modern Family, and hoping that Friday would just hurry up and get here, this Hump Day turned out to be awesome, all thanks to... A Trip to Margaritaville! AKA: The Drink of the Week!

(You all are already familiar with my talented hubby's photography, but this marks his first written contribution to Mama Fashionista-and the introduction of a regular series "The Drink of the Week.")

Wastin’ away in Margaritaville indeed...

One sip of the Margaritaville 5 O'Clock Cocktails Island Lime Margarita, and I was whisked away to the tropics, sitting in front of a stage watching Jimmy Buffett strum his six string with the crowd singing along. Well not exactly, but you get the idea. Sure, there’s nothing like a strong, authentic, two sip tipsy, salt around the rim margarita. But, if you don’t have the time or the budget, these cocktails are a pretty good option with a potent 8% alcohol content.

As in most households over the holidays, the liquid libations were in full effect at our abode. From vodka, to tequila, to rum, to beer and back again, the Island Lime beverages were definitely among the crowd favorites. Sure it’s not as smooth or as relaxing as sipping a goblet of Grand Marnier, but it’s fun, and the amount of empty bottles that I put out on the curb was evidence that our guests agreed.

Now while the Corona bottles stacked almost just as high, all in all, Margaritaville 5 O'Clock Cocktails Island Lime Margarita  is a great alternative to beer. Served ice cold, there’s a nice hint of lime, and they manage to give you a smooth, pretty authentic margarita feel. Let’s be honest, when it comes to alcoholic beverages, there are many levels of enjoyment. If the sophistication of a good cognac is what you’re craving, then this is probably not the drink for you, but if good times and good laughs with good friends is your objective, go ahead and give these a try. You might be pleasantly surprised...
