Wedding Fashion For the Family

Summer is linked to many things. Warmer weather, festivals, beaches becoming overcrowded as everybody swarms to get a spot for their sunbed … and weddings. Summer is wedding season, and there is little question as to why; the benefits of having the biggest day of your life hosted in mild conditions is something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Couples pay thousands more to book their venues in the peak season just so their guests can be more comfortable. So what should we be looking to wear this year at summer weddings?

Dresses

If you have children, who have also been invited, it’s not just you that you’ve got to think about in terms of clothing. Weddings are a fine chance for young girls to dress like a princess for the day - but remember not to steal too much of the bride’s limelight! There are boutique dresses available online for you to have a look through for yourself; a greater selection is often offered when you search on the internet rather than trawling through shops trying to find your perfect dress. Most companies offer free returns on whatever you’re buying if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like it, but make sure that you leave enough time before the event arrives to make sure that you’re going in a dress that you absolutely love. If you're crafty and want to sew your stuff, you can easily use serger like 1034d to add a professional touch to your clothes. You'll save a ton of money by sewing your own clothes.

Suits

Don’t think that suits are limited just to men. There are so many people who look amazing in a tailored suit who are also women - you only have to look to Ellen Degeneres for reassurance on this trend. Taking the lead and going for a bold colour will ensure that you get noticed, but it may not be something that you can wear again; if you work in an office or have business meetings, it can be a good idea to choose a muted colour and tone it up with accessories, ensuring that your purchase is more versatile. Again, if you have a child who wants to be dressed up smart for the wedding, getting them a mini-suit can be a super cute purchase - even more so if you tie it in with the themed colours.

Accessories

There are few other occasions where you can wear a hat or fascinator without looking out of place. Since the rise of craft sites online such as Etsy, there have been all sorts of different styles of fascinator making an appearance. Focusing on other accessories such as shoes, necklaces, rings and bags, we’re living in the new age: you don’t necessarily have to ensure that they are colour-coordinated or of a matching pattern to really make an impact with your outfit. Go with what feels right to you. If you know that you are going to be standing for a long time or dancing the night away, make sure that you take a spare pair of appropriate shoes with you so that your feet don’t start to hurt later on. Sometimes you have to choose comfort over fashion!
