Make February the New January with The Vitamin Shoppe

I don't know about you, but January was a big flop as far as goal setting for me - so I'm determined to start fresh this February and I have some help! This year, instead of making a handful of empty New Year’s resolutions, the team at the Vitamin Shoppe is focused on helping customers set goals AND achieve them throughout the year! {Product provided for review/feature consideration}

Goal: Get Your Essential Nutrients

The holidays can be busy – social gatherings, traveling and crazy work hours can leave you feeling off balance and straying from your normal diet. Make yourself a basic daily supplement kit of Probiotics, Vitamin C, Fish Oil and Greens Powder to help you stay healthy! Bonus: I just read a study that showed that those that use probiotics regularly tend to lose and keep off weight better than those that don't!

Goal: Sleep Straight Through the Night

During sleep, the body works on producing important hormones, creates new immune cells, repairs DNA, and regulates weight and mood chemicals. To get a more restful sleep, incorporate 1.5 oz or about 1/3 cup of walnuts and sunflower seeds into your daily diet as a source of Vitamin B6.

Take 4mL (4 full droppers) of the Vitamin Shoppe liquid melatonin (pictured above) prior to bedtime as needed, or as directed to help support a more restful night’s sleep. Melatonin is involved in circadian rhythm (the internal body clock) and regulation of diverse body functions, especially sleep. As someone who has suffered from insomnia for as long as I can remember, I can personally attest to the efficacy of this!

Goal: Stress Less

An often overlooked mineral, magnesium is an essential cofactor in over 300 biochemical reactions. Adequate magnesium can help the body better respond to stress, increase energy production, balance blood pressure and promote relaxation. When cooking meals for the week, prepare at least 1 cup of green leafy vegetables, such as spinach and kale, for a great source of this helpful mineral.

Goal: Snack Smarter

From your desk at work to your car and gym bag, stock up on healthy snacks for when you’re low on energy and time. Keep raw nuts, beef jerky  {or chicken jerky, as pictured above} or energy and protein bars on standby. Protein is the key factor in hormone production, immune support and healthy weight management. My girls LOVED the Cave Man Chicken Jerky - it was their favorite after school (or any time) snack!
