Caterpillars No More! AKA: Give Your Brows a Natural Finish with TouchBack Brow Marker

To this day, my mother is one of the most fashionable, stylish, beautiful women that I know. For as long as can remember (and probably far beyond even that), her nightly routine included washing her face and then filling in her eyebrows with a pencil and applying some kind of color to her lips. She always made a point of being presentable at all times (even in her sleep). I never understood the point of taking off makeup just to put some back on, but now that I'm married, it makes more sense.

Another thing I never really saw the point of was filling in my brows. I've made sure that they were in a neat, natural looking arch since my early teens, but other than that (semi) regular maintenance, I left my brows alone. Enter YouTube and every gurus obsession with brows (and my personal realization after a terrible growing out period that helped me to see that they truly can make or break your look) and now I've been on a quest for the right technique and products for my brows.

There is quite a fine line between your eyebrows looking perfectly coiffed and Groucho Marx, and I find myself struggling to find that sweet spot in between. My hair is very dark, so often times if I try to match the color it comes of way too strong (I attempted to fill in my brows with a dark brown pencil just for Peyton to take one look at me and declare that my brows looked like caterpillars). Powders appear much more natural, but I find that it is hard to find a matte shade in the appropriate color and even with gel, my oily complexion saps the longevity of the look. So when I learned of the TouchBack Brow Marker, I was excited to give it a try.

Complete with detailed instructions for how to create the best shape for your brows, the TouchBack Brow Marker (MSRP $19.95)  offers a patented new technology for the eyebrows that gives long lasting coverage, that won't rub off and allows for easy and precise application. It is a fine tip marker that enhances the shape, color, and fullness of your brows and can cover up stray grays (which I happen to have one or two of). The marker delivers the perfect amount of color for even, natural coverage.

TouchBack BrowMarker's patented formula bonds to brows and skin, dries quickly and lasts all day. While it won't rub off, it can be easily removed with soap and water.

You simply apply the marker to clean, unmoisturized brows. Use short upward strokes, in the direction hair grows, to enhance the shape and fill in sparseness.

Here's my before and after:

Don't judge me, it's hard taking pictures of your eyebrows while nursing a baby!

This is me fully made up, having used the TouchBack Brow Marker in Dark Brown on my brows...

Stay tuned for a post on this look!

I REALLY like this product! It was super easy to use and it did wonders to fill in the fine, long hairs of my brow so that they appear fuller but still natural. The Brow Marker also comes in Auburn, Medium Brown, and Blonde.

What do you use to groom, maintain, and fill in your brows? Have you tried the TouchBack Brow Marker, or are you a pencil/powder/gel kind of lovely? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Until next time...

  1. Nice. I'll have to check those out. I get mine threaded (which works much better for me than waxing) and I just enhance with a brow pencil and a little highlight.

  2. Ooh, this looks like such an awesome product! I once overplucked my eyebrows, and definitely could have used this. I may just have to purchase it for myself.

P.S. You look beautiful in that picture!! :)
