MMM: My Tips are California Cool with NCLA

My pretty new lacquers from NCLA

I had the privilege of receiving these AWESOME polishes from NCLA, a new to me brand that features gorgeous nail lacquers and unique nail wraps (stay tuned for a post on those). All of the lacquers are 100% 4 free (no DBP, Camphor, Toluene, or Formaldehyde) and are NEVER tested on animals.

I love the names of the polishes!

The two shades that I received are from The LA Collection, and their names reflect it! Mulholland Maneater is described as a "opulent, rich, dark purple," but its deep creme finish comes off as more of a dark blue to my eyes. Downtown Dollface is inspired of the tall buildings of Los Angeles and is a beautifully versatile light grey creme.

I love how the mani turned out (so much so, I didn't even feel the need to throw some glitter on it)!

Over my fave base coat (Essie's Ridge Filling Base Coat-available for purchase here: http://rstyle.me/ybjnade), I applied two coats of the NCLA Lacquers and after allowing the polish to dry, I used a dotting tool to decorate. I topped it off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. The formula was a bit streaky with the first coat, but smoothed out perfectly with 2nd and it's wonderfully opaque. I'm totally smitten with these polishes and really want to add SO MANY MORE to my collection! NCLA Lacquers retail for $16 and are available on their website: shopncla.com.

Have you tried NCLA lacquers or wraps? What's your favorite shade? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Until next time...

    1. Thanks so much! I'm no pro, but I do like to play. I feel like I get better at my poor attempt at nail art with each mani-as long as you don't look at my right hand :)

  2. I have never tried NCLA polish before, but it looks stunning on you! I love Mulholland Maneater for fall, and Downtown Dollface for winter - the colors are lovely...as is your nail art! :)
