L'Occitane Aromachologie Radiance and Color Care Mask

L'Occitane Aromachologie Radiance and Color Care Mask ($32)

To me, L'Occitane is synonymous with French luxury; it makes me think of flying (Delta used  put L'Occitane products in their goodie bags for first class passengers) and lavender and honey and the french countryside. I've tried many of their skin care goodies, but this was my first experience with hair care from L'Occitane, and it definitely lived up to the lofty expectations I had in my head for the brand.

The rich, creamy Radiance & Color Care Mask for color-treated hair (pictured above) is formulated with a botanical blend of five essential oils (geranium, palmarosa, bergamot, rosemary and cedar), as well as grape seed extract, to help keep color from fading. With a melting texture, the formula detangles hair, leaving color vibrant and hair soft, shiny and easy to manage. Additionally, UV filters help protect your hair color against the sun's harmful rays.
Though I do not have color treated hair, sometimes I like to use products formulated for color treated hair because they tend to be more gentle and have sun protectant in them; two things that are well suited for curly girls in the summer time! This luxurious mask is thick and creamy and smells so delicious; it has an intoxicating, feminine, floral fragrance that lingers in your locks. After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I coated my curls with the rich mask, but concentrated specifically on my ends (I did this by applying the product to my ends first and then working my way up the hair shaft). I then put on a shower cap and left the mask on for 5 minutes (the package says 2-3 minutes). Before rinsing it out, I stood under the stream of warm water from the shower for a bit , so that the heat from the water would help the mask penetrate the hair shaft. Then I finger detangled my hair (quite easily, I might add) before finally rinsing the mask out.

Not only did the Radiance & Color Care Mask from L'Occitane leave my curls silky, smooth and soft, I really can not say enough about how GOOD this mask smells. I'm usually not a huge fan of floral scents, but the fragrance in this mask has me seriously rethinking that notion. I want to bury my face in my hair!

Here are a few of the other masks that L'Occitane offers, as I am quite sure that they are equally as awesome as the one I tried:

L'Occitane "Shine" Repairing Mask for Dry & Damaged Hair ($32)

A hair mask formulated with a natural complex of five essential oils-angelica, lavender, geranium, ylang-ylang and patchouli. Particularly recommended for color-treated and chemically treated hair, this hair mask nourishes and deeply restores capillary fiber. Repairing, stimulating and regenerating, it protects against the damaging effects of heat treatments (blow dryer, curling iron, hot rollers, etc.) and environmental stresses (sun, pollution, etc.). This rich and silky cream leaves your hair shiny, soft and smooth.

L'Occitane Aromachologie Volumizing Mask ($32)

The Aromachologie Volumizing Mask uses a complex of five essential oils (artemisia, sweet orange, mint, pine and rosemary) to soften, energize, refresh, tonify and stimulate hair. The use of lime tree extract keeps hair smooth and light, while apricot oil provides nourishment.Perfect for both fine and normal hair, the smooth gel-cream texture and fresh fragrance provide a pure moment of pleasure. Use in place of conditioner one to two times per week for a more visible effects.

Have you tried anything from L'Occitane before? What are your favorite products from the luxe brand? Will you be giving one of these hair masks a try? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Until next time...
