Embrace Your Inner Fierce Royal with Katy Perry's Latest Fragrance,Killer Queen!

Scene from the promo shoot for Katy Perry's new fragrance, Killer Queen

Katy Perry recently opened up to GQ magazine about what her life was like before her multi-platinum records and stardom. Her tell-all interview is accompanied by a super-sexy cover and photo-spread. During the interview, Katy Perry revealed that she truly believes in her own message of self-empowerment, as heard in the lyrics of her inspirational, hit songs, such as "Firework" and "Roar.”

Her fragrance, Killer Queen by Katy Perry (sent for review; $59), also ties into these positive messages of believing in yourself. The fragrance embodies empowerment and beauty. The jewel-shaped bottle portrays sexy sophistication and luxury. The rich gold crown cap showcases a custom crest capturing Katy Perry’s playful essence.

The new, strikingly gorgeous perfume captures Katy Perry’s rebellious spirit, throwing convention to the wind. Inspired by a queen’s scepter, the distinct jewel-shaped bottle in shades of royal red and gold portray sexy sophistication and lawless luxury. The faceted bottle rests languorously on its side, like a loose, precious gem fit for a Queen.

As you can see, the bottle is beautifully unique, just like the fragrance it encapsulates. It's the PERFECT winter fragrance: warm, subtly sensual, and absolutely regal.

The scent is called Killer Queen after the song of the same name written by Freddie Mercury. “Killer Queen has been in my vocabulary since I was 15, because of the song ‘Killer Queen’ by Queen,” Perry said in an interview with Women's Wear Daily.  “Freddie Mercury painted the lyrics of this woman who I wanted to be. She seemed very powerful, and she captivated a room when she walked in. I named my company Killer Queen after those lyrics. I feel like, after all this time, it was appropriate to use that name in association with something I did. I feel like I’m falling, finally, into that woman Freddie painted.”

"When I was creating Killer Queen, I was really inspired by the idea of a strong, confident woman in power and that is exactly what I hoped to put into this fragrance, something that brings out the power inside of you." Katy Perry

Described "as a playful, sophisticated, powerful, edgy and delicious fragrance", it reflects the rebellious spirit of the singer. It features top notes of wild berries, dark plum and bergamot accords, while the main note at the heart of the fragrance is velvety red flower (Celosia). There are also notes of Sambac jasmine and rainbow plumeria. The base notes include cashmere, patchouli and liquid praline.
