Mani Monday: Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Textured Polish in Cherry Drop

Disclaimer: I am not a nail blogger or professional (so sometimes I color outside of the lines and my cuticles look a bit ragged). I am merely a girl who LOVES nail polish!
Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Textured Nail Color in Cherry Bomb

I'm not gonna lie, I may be a bit obsessed with the new rough textured polishes {ie: Zoya Pixie Dust, OPI Liquid Sand, and Jesse's Girl Cosmetics/Julie G Beauty Gum Drops}, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise that I'm a fan of Sally Hansen's Sugar Coat Textured Nail Color {product sent for review}. But this particular formula, and this bright vibrant shade, have won a special place in my heart apart from all the rest!

The fact that I actually painted my nails with a single color should tell you how much I love this polish! What makes Sally Hansen's Sugar Coat formula different from other similar texture polishes, is its completely matte finish. The others that I have tried {as listed above, with the exception of Zoya's Pixie Dust, which is on my ever growing wishlist} all have glitter mixed in, so while they are "matte" there is a bit of shimmer and gleam because of the glitter. There is no glitter in the Sugar Coat polish, so it is truly matte, which makes for a very interesting finish. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but the more I looked at it, the more I LOVED it!

I used two coats of Cherry Bomb to achieve complete opaqueness, on top of a base coat, and there is no top coat. This color is phenomenal {and my camera couldn't quite pick up the nuance of it}: in the bottle {and in the pictures} it looks like a bright cherry red, but in real life, it comes off as more of a neon {yes, NEON} red orange. It's quite breathtaking {for me at least}, as I have never seen a color quite like it. As I said, it has rented out a special little place in my heart.

So, yeah... now I want the 7 other shades in the collection. But let's be honest, I sort of want all of the textured polishes... like, all of them. I was so not a fan of crackle and I still am having a hard time accepting flat, matte polishes-but glitter runs through my veins, so this is a trend I can really get on board with! How do you feel about textured polishes? Do you have a favorite formula? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...
