Mani Monday: NCLA My Dad Invented That (North of Sunset Collection)

Disclaimer: I am not a nail blogger or professional (so sometimes I color outside of the lines and my cuticles look a bit ragged). I am merely a girl who LOVES nail polish!

Meet the sexiest and savviest colors in the room with our four hottest shades. They know their way around town and they're always on the VIP list! That's how NCLA describes their latest collection, North of Sunset. The four shade collection is perfect for the fall and is a mix of glitters and cremes. I was immediately drawn to the veritable glitterbomb that is My Dad Invented That, so it's the first shade that I picked to wear and share! {Sent for review}

My Dad Invented That is described as a "galaxy-inspired nail lacquer that features a black base glittered with millions of shimmering specks of silver and other bits of bright shiny multicolored matter." It seems to me to be a bit of a jelly sandwich in a bottle: the base is a black jelly that is so chock full of silver micro glitter, that it is almost opaque in one coat. Add to that an abundance of slightly bigger, multicolored glitter and it's like the night sky on your digits. The color is truly spectacular in real life, in some lights it takes on a duo chrome look and shifts from black to green to blue. The formula is amazing, the picture shows two thin coats with a Seche Vite top coat.

All NCLA lacquers are five free: never tested on animals, free of formaldehyde, DBP, Camphor, and Toluene. They retail for $16 a piece and are available at shopncla.com.

Stay tuned for the three other shades in this collection, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Laurel Canyon Lolita, and The Spa Comes to Me. Until next time...
