Summer Time Beauty: CC All About It!

Summer Time Beauty: CC All About It!

Sometimes the summertime heat can make your normal makeup routine feel heavy and unbearable! But there's no need to sacrifice a flawless complexion for staying cool. Keep reading to see how CC Creams can help you look fresh and not hot and bothered.

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream ($42 available at Sephora) - {sent for review and I already waxed poetic on it here}  It features all of the amazing benefits of BB - primes, perfects, protects with SPF 30 - hydrates and controls oil, plus it visibly evens dark spots, sun spots and post-acne marks. Why I love it: It has SPF 30, is lightweight and blends so well,  and it comes in five shades {dark, fair, light, light/ medium, and medium} so there's a better chance of finding your match and being on your way to more even, luminous skin.

Sarah McNamara Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control ($48 available at Sephora) - {sent for review} The first ever acne treatment to fight “pimple memory,” or recurring breakouts in the same spot.  I have been in love with this product since I received it, my skin has been going nutso for the past couple of months and the summer heat in GA has not been helping. It contains "smart salicylic acid, anti-microbial peptides, marine extracts and vitamin B3 treat work together to heal and prevent breakouts now and in the future." This lightweight, oil-free formula controls shine and sebum, leaving a smooth, matte, flawless finish as it hydrates, firms and calms skin. Why I love it: it has a fantastic matte finish, it is brown girl friendly, and it fights acne.

Olay CC Cream Total Effects Tone Correcting Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ($23 available at Target) - tackles 7 signs of aging: Fine lines and wrinkles: reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Uneven Tone: balances and helps even out tone, Age Spots: reduces appearance of discoloration, Gentle Exfoliation: Improves surface cell turnover, Dryness: provides nourishing moisturization, Moisture Barrier: strengthens skin's natural defense against moisture loss, Luminosity: recaptures youthful luminosity. Why I want it: Um... that's a lot of bang for your buck, you can't really go wrong with Olay, and accessibility.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream ($39) - ideal for all skin types and especially beneficial for skin showing the signs of aging including fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. Available in two shades, Natural Glow works best with fair to medium skin tones while Warm Glow is the perfect color for medium to dark skin tones. Why I want it: I've been dying to try something from Juice Beauty and the idea of having some (preventative) anti-aging properties in a makeup.

LORAC CC Cream ($28)LORAC's Color Correcting Cream instantly neutralizes redness and imperfections with a natural-looking, semi-matte finish. This 6-in-1 specially-tinted makeup neutralizes, primes, moisturizes, brightens, soothes and helps your skin look healthy and youthful. CC Cream is oil, silicone, paraben and fragrance free and is suitable for all skin types. Why I want it: the darkest of the 3 shade options looks hopeful as a match for my complexion, the LORAC Pro Palette is awesomesauce so I don't see why this would be any different, and it promises a semi-matte finish which also sounds awesomesauce.

Nip + Fab SPF 30 CC Cream ($15 at Target.com) - From across the pond comes this lightweight hydrating complexion corrector with SPF 30 sun protection + medium coverage. It provides 24 hour moisturisation whilst the appearance of skin is toned + smoothed with oat extract. It contains 100% mineral ingredients, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids to help improve the health of your skin, while neutralizing discoloration, and providing sheer, light reflecting coverage. Why I love it: the mineral rich formula really looks good on the skin, SPF protection, and it's on the verge of being brown girl friendly {if they had a shade option one shade darker, it would be perfection for me, 2-3 more shade options would be great too!}
