My Magazine Haul! How Shopping and Reading Magazines Goes Hand in Hand for Me!

My

I get A LOT of magazines every month and it drives the hubby crazy. One of the ways I get rid of them quickly is by flipping through them and tearing out all of the articles and ads that interest me so that I can focus on those and throw the bulk of the magazine away. I then construct a wishlist from the torn out ads, and sometimes I actually end up buying some of the stuff! Recently, I've acquired quite a few things from my torn out ads and I thought I'd share my haul with you!

Dove Sheer Touch Skin Renew  Antiperspirant/Deodorant ($3.89 at Target)- I'm of the opinion that you can never have enough deodorant. I'm a big fan of Dove and have been using it for YEARS, but I really wanted to try the newer formulas. The "Go Sleeveless" formula moisturizes and calms shaving irritation "for smooth, beautiful underarms in just 5 days." The "Clear Tone" formula {the one I purchased}visibly reduces dark marks and evens tone with regular use over time. I thought maybe I could compare these two with the regular formula to see if there was any marked difference. Does that sound like an interesting post {I promise not to include pictures of my pits}?

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Super Slim Liner in Black ($8.49 at Target) - The only bit of makeup I never leave home without, is black eyeliner, preferably liquid and definitely long wearing. Of course I was drawn to this beauty! It has a precise 0.4 mm, ultra fine tip, has a quick dry formula, and is supposed to last for 12 hours. Plus it's super dark and opaque-that's basically eyeliner heaven for me!

Revlon Lash Potion Volume + Length Waterproof Mascara
($4.99 at target.com)- Put Emma Stone on anything and I'm all over it! No but really, it's been years since I've tried a Revlon mascara, and I've heard nothing but rave reviews about this one, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Plus it was $4.99 {already an awesome price} and I had a manufacturer's coupon for $1 off and a Target Coupon for $1 off so I got it for $2.99. SCORE!!!

Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation ($6.99 at Target)- Another product I've heard rave reviews about, me and my oily skin felt compelled to try this out too! It was a bit like kismet when I actually found my shade, so I bought it. I've actually used it a couple of times already and I really like it! It blends in so well, looks really natural, and offers light to medium coverage. It keeps you shine free for a while, but I find it works best when set with powder. One of my favorite things about it is ease of application {you can blend with your fingers}and its portability-it will be going with me on our upcoming trip to New Jersey.

L'Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer ($7.99 at Target)- Another one I wanted, but absolutely had to buy when I found my shade {I feel like I've won a prize when I find a drugstore product in my shade}. I've only used it a few times, and on blemishes, so I can't yet attest to its real longevity. But I can tell you that it's almost surprisingly creamy and really easy to blend. Once again though, my favorite thing about it is the uber convenient packaging-this will be another item in my makeup bag for our road trip.

I got it all for $39.99 plus taxes, shipping and handling

Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial ($45 at  Sephora)- I've wanted this for a long while, especially after I tried the Wild Rose Overnight Facial and found it to be FANTASTIC, only to have the hubby tell me that it smells like and old lady and gives him a headache. So I was super stoked when the Greek Yoghurt version was introduced, but just couldn't justify spending the $45. Lucky for me, I happened to accidentally turn to HSN during an hour of Korres sales, and this beauty was being offered in a set, with the lovely item below, a body butter, and a facial moisturizer-for $39.99 AND it was available on flex pay! I had to do it, I had to do it. And I did it. It's been done. It's mine and it's AMAZING. I swear it's like waking up with someone else's skin when I use this, especially when I use it coupled with the Greek Youghurt Moisturizer

Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Lip Cooler ($19 at Sephora)- I didn't even realize that this was one of the items in my magazine "wishlist" until I was going through the pages I've accumulated while cleaning. But lo and behold, there it was in the stack, and I just happened to have gotten it in the set mentioned above. I got the plain version and it's a new HG for me. It cools, buffs, hydrates, softens, and it tastes good-so basically it's the best lip gloss EVER!

L'Oreal Paris Sublime Suncreen Oil Spray SPF 30 ($9.99 at Target)- Um, once again, the draw of celebrity spokes models got me. Jennifer Lopez' big bronze booty beauty sold me on this sunscreen. Plus I've been obsessed with sunscreens as of late {I'm currently testing out a bunch for a sunscreen roundup I'm working on}, and my favorite formulas {especially for the girls}are spray forms. Look out for a post on a blog near you featuring this lovely.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm in Minty Sheer, Oh! Orange, and Fierce N Tangy ($2.99 at Target)- I've already admitted that I may have a slight problem obsession with lip balms and as I shared in this post, Baby Lips rank in my top 10 {though that list may need to be revisited after my introduction to the goodness of Korres}. Anyway, I had to do it. Again. And I'm not sorry. Except that now that I have these three, I want the other three. Plus a few for Peyton. I already said I have a problem.

Does anyone else read there magazines like I do or am I just a total weirdo {it's okay, I'm comfortable with that}? Have you tried any of the items in my haul or are any of them on your wish/shopping list? What are you absolutely loving now that I need to buy? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you're thinking! Until next time...

  1. I definitely want to try the new Electro Baby Lips items, the pink one, to be exact. They don't seem to be widely available in Canada yet. I've seen one (the yellow) in Walmart but not the others. I'm crossing my fingers I'll find the pink one.

  2. I love the Dove Sheer Touch, I don't have super dark underarms, but I have seen a noticeable difference. Maybe someday I'll have "airbrushed perfect" underarms ;)

    1. I haven't noticed a huge difference, but there is a noticeable change. It's made enough of a difference for me that I want to continue to use it and perhaps alternate it with the "Go Sleeveless" formula.

  3. I do the exact same thing with my magazines! The only problem is now I have a short stack of ripped out pages to go through!

    1. I am so glad to know I'm not the only person who does that! And I totally know what you mean: I don't know what's worse-having the stack of magazines or the stack of magazine pages!
