It's A Rare Ocassion: My DNA Honeybee Leave-In Conditioner (Revisited)

My well loved bottle of Honeybee Leave-In Conditioner

It is my immense privilege to be able to try out A LOT of products (especially hair products) and then share my experiences with you lovelies. Honestly even before I began blogging, I was sort of a product junkie (well, not really "sort of," more like actually) and I was forever adding to my hair care stash. I don't know if it's just a female thing, or maybe a curly girl thing, but it seems like I was always on the quest to find the perfect product(s) to give me the perfect head of hair.

Because of the ever present abundance and constant acquisition of various hair potions, it was a rarity even back then (and even more of a rarity now) that I come across a product that I use to it's finish. Even more rare is to come across a product that I use completely AND want to repurchase. Usually I come across another product that performs the same duties in a comparable manner, so I very rarely do repeats. There have been few exceptions to this (and now that I think of it, most of my repeat buys come in spray bottles), and I was even more surprised by this one, because my first impression of it was not exactly a positive one.

Just to prove that, witness this poorly made YouTube video:

See! The quality of that video sucked! Lol. BUT, I got my point across, albeit in a very long, but hopefully semi entertaining manner. The My DNA line as a whole was kind of hit and miss with me, with the Honeybee Leave-In Conditioner considered to be  a bit of a wash (the only products that completely won me over were the conditioner and the butter). But as I said in the video, I committed to giving another try to see if it too was a winner. Lo and behold, here I sit with a bottle of conditioner that maybe has enough product for two more applications.

Yep, I fell in love. It still is unlike any other leave in conditioner (spray or otherwise) that I've tried before; I still contend that the smell and consistency is more reminiscent of a wrapping/setting lotion. But the results! Oh man! If I need to refresh my 3rd day, wash and go hair, it's Honeybee to the rescue! When I want to detangle the baby's hair (and I know that she's NOT going to stay still long enough for me to wet it with a spray bottle of water AND apply a cream conditioner), Honeybee saves the day! It still doesn't smell like honey (bummer), but boy is it convenient and effective.

Here's the thing though. I would love to repurchase this product. And I may very well do so. HOWEVER, the only purchasing information that I can find for it is on the My DNA Is Universal website and there it retails for $14.99. Now this is a double edged sword: I use the product quite heavily, so obviously I like it, BUT is it worth $14.99 plus tax and shipping and handling (especially when I do actually have other leave in conditioners (spray and otherwise) to use). I don't know yet, but when I do, I'll get back to you.

What do you think? Have you tried the Honeybee Leave-In Conditioner from My DNA, or any other products from the line? What is your favorite leave in conditioner? What is your limit on how much you'll spend on an individual hair product? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Until next time...

Ciao, XxO

PS-The product was sent for the purpose of review by the company and NaturallyCurly.com. This is no way influenced my opinion, it is 100% honest and my own :)
