Melvita All Stars

Melvita All Stars

Melvita All Stars by mamafashionist1 featuring a face care

I've shared my love for Melvita's Rose Nectar collection and their Extraordinary Waters , but honestly I am so impressed with the quality of the products that I've tried from the French organic beauty pioneer, that several of the products have earned a place in my daily rotation of products for skin care and maintenance, for both myself and my lil bits!

I start the day with the Fresh Cleansing Milk from the Rose Nectar Collection (there are actually several formulas available; the one pictured above is the Extra Gentle version with olive, acacia honey, and shea). Usually, I've washed my face the night before (it's a very important habit to develop, especially if you wear makeup), so I don't need to use any harsh cleansers on my skin in the morning. This light and deliciously fresh lotion cleanses the skin and removes face and eye make-up without any drying effect. It is formulated with rose seed milk, and eliminates impurities, make-up and traces of pollution, while protecting the skin's hydrolipidic film. It is also enriched with wild rose petal extract (derived from roses that grow at high altitudes) and moisturizing rose floral water, to prevent dryness. The rose scent is a great pick me up, but more importantly, it leaves my skin soft, supple, and refreshed.

While I'm washing my face and getting ready for the day, the lil bits (Lo and Kenzie) are usually in my tub taking a bath. I use Melvita For Baby Shower Shampoo for Hair and Body for them. The fewer products I have to use for them the better, so I love this multi tasking wonder. It is allergen free, essential oils free, alcohol free, formulated under pediatric control, and dermatologically tested. This gentle, foaming mousse formula washes baby's hair and body with a mild cleansing base of pure lime tree and balm floral waters to soften and soothe the skin without stinging the eyes. Purifying honey is also added to leave skin nourished so baby's skin is always hydrated and supple. Their skin is left so soft, I generally don't have to use any additional moisturizer for them (though Lo insists on using one anyway). In fact, London is a big fan of the Shower Shampoo too! She likes that she gets to use a fancy "soap" just like mommy's, and because of the handy dandy pump, she can use it to wash up all by herself :)

At night, I either use LUSH cosmetics Dream Cream (which I gushed about here) or Melvita's Fresh Moisturizing Body Milk from the Rose Nectar Collection (the one pictured in the collage and above is the Essentials Moisturizing Body Lotion). I have found that applying body lotion at night (and not just after I get out of the shower or bath) has made a huge, positive impact on my skin. The rose scent of the body milk is absolutely intoxicating and I love that it is not too overpowering for my scent sensitive husband. Though the formula is light (perfect for this hot, Georgia summer), it is also rich and silky.

I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles under my eyes (yet) and I rarely get dark circles under my eyes (which is quite miraculous, as I have sleep issues AND kids), but with skin care, prevention is key. So I've started to incorporate an eye cream or gel in to my night time skin care routine. Melvita Bio-Excellence Eye Contour Gel is one that I am currently experimenting with, and while I don't see a huge difference in the skin under my eyes in general, I am content with it's effectiveness and will continue to use it (there wasn't a problem with my under eye area in the first place, so as long as it stays the same I figure the product is doing it's job). This unscented cream-in-gel formula quickly improves the eye area with a potent combination of natural plant actives, leaving delicate skin with an intense sensation of comfort and healing. Cornflower, chamomile and orange floral waters decongest to reduce puffiness, while a special complex of caffeine, willow bark and phospholipids counteract dark circles. Special ingredients like centella asiatica and Arabic gum provide a lifting effect as well, reducing fine lines and wrinkles around the eye.

The last thing I do for myself before going to sleep is use a hand cream. I have always been super self conscience of my rough, dry hands and it doesn't matter how fly my latest polish job is if my hands and cuticles are rough and unkempt. Once again, I turn to one of the treasures from the Rose Nectar Collection, the Beauty Cream for Hands and Nails (the one pictured in the collage and above is the Extra Rich Cream for Repairing and Nourishing with Cocoa, Argan, and Shea). I rotate this with the lavender hand cream from Jurlique that I won from Birchbox. They are both fantastic, but because of my husband's sensitivity, I don't like to mix scents so I use the Rose Nectar products in tandem. I can't tell you how pleasant it is to drift off to sleep with the smell of fresh rose petals in your nostrils!

So obviously I'm carrying on an ongoing love affair with Melvita. I'm not a stickler for solely using organic products, but I have to admit, the fact that they are organic is definitely a plus (especially when it comes to using Melvita on my babies). Considering the amount of different products I try (all for you lovelies, ha), it is always remarkable to me when I continue to use a product past the stage of testing it for review. Apparently, these have what it takes to make the grade!

Have you had a chance to try out what Melvita has to offer? What are the products that you use on a daily basis and turn to time and time again? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and tell me what you think. Until next time...

  1. I haven't had a chance to try Melvita but they are on my list! I'd love to try the Baby Shower Shampoo for my kiddies too.

    1. You definitely should give them a try! I have not been disappointed by a single product that I've tried. The Baby Shower Shampoo is wonderful; I have to hide it from my 4 year old because a little goes a long way and she has no sense of moderation :) It's very rare that you find a brand that is so varied yet consistent across the board. I can honestly say that I use Melvita daily; it's that good!
