Worth a Flour Bomb? True Reflection by Kim Kardashian

Remember way back when (in other words, March), when Kim Kardashian was flour bombed? I think the press over that was so big, it sort of overshadowed the event she was present for, the West Hollywood launch of her latest fragrance, True Reflection.

True Reflection joins Kim Kardashian, Kim Kardashian Gold, and Kim Kardashian Love as the fourth scent in her growing perfume coffret. Now I'm not going to lie, I tend to stay away from celebrity fragrances, but I was willing to give True Reflection a shot because the original Kim Kardashian fragrance is very reminiscent of my beloved Michael Kors, with it's slightly musky, gardenia soaked notes. True Reflection is a sophisticated, feminine scent with top notes of plum, peach and Italian bergamot, floral notes of lotus flower, night blooming gardenia, and chocolate orchid, and a woodsy base comprised of musk and patchouli.

When sprayed on my skin, the first impression I get is of chocolate covered fruit. When allowed to dry and settle, it morphs to a deep and rich floral, but with enough airiness to keep it from being too mature (or old ladyish). I choose what fragrance to wear based on my mood, the occasion, the season, the weather, and what I'm wearing (a bit odd, I know, but it works for me). I envision wearing True Reflection year round, on those occasions when I want to feel sophisticated and sexy, like on date nights with the hubby. It's as well suited for flowing maxi sundresses with plunging necklines and sky high, strappy sandals as it is for form fitting sweater dresses and over the knee boots.

If you're a fan of Bath and Body Works' Dark Kiss, Black Amethyst, and Sensual Amber, you will probably like True Reflection. I'm a little behind on the Victoria's Secret scents, but I think that fans of Amber Romance and Love Spell will enjoy Kim K.'s latest offering as well.

Will you be giving True Reflection a try? What are your favorite fragrances? Are you a signature scent kind of gal, or do you have a perfume collection that rivals your wardrobe? How do you choose what scent to wear? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Until next time...

  1. I don't find it shocking to hear this review. Kim Kardashian, being the sex-goddess she's known for, will definitely promote a product that will embody that. I just hope I could find this perfume at wholesale prices in stores.
