Simple and Inexpensive Ways to Treat Yourself

We’re living through some pretty stressful times right now. We’re in the midst of a worldwide pandemic and none of us know how things are going to pan out. Our routines have changed. Our social lives are essentially non existent while we follow social distancing guidelines. If we have kids, we’re in control of them 24/7 rather than them going to school. In short, it’s going to be a pretty stressful time. This is why this is such an important time for self-care. You really need to prioritize your wellbeing and take steps to improve your mood on a daily basis. Now, more than ever, you deserve to treat yourself every once in a while. Sure, funds may be low right now, with many of us out of work or receiving reduced pay. But treating yourself doesn’t have to be expensive or extravagant. Sometimes, the smallest steps make the biggest difference. So, to get your imagination going, here are a few simple self-care and treat yourself tips that you might like to try out!

Take Some Me-Time

Me-time is so important, yet so many of us just completely leave it out of our schedules. Put simply, me-time is anytime you take out for yourself, to focus on doing something solely for your own benefit. It’s generally an opportunity to relax, recuperate and catch up on the simple things in life you might not have otherwise had time for. Some people use this time to soak in the bath. Some will put a face mask on and watch a film. Some will kick back and relax with a magazine or book. However you choose to use your me-time is up to you. Just make sure that others know not to interrupt you while you’re taking this time out. So many people let their whole lives revolve around others and others’ needs that this can be the perfect fix to exhaustion and feelings of self-neglect.

Order Your Favorite Snack

Food can bring a smile to many of our faces. It’s quite difficult getting treats right now. Many of us are minimizing our trips to the supermarket in order to reduce our exposure to others. So, with trips few and far between, you may find your snack supplies running short about a week in. Why not order one of your favorite treats to be delivered? It’s simple and doesn't have to cost much, but it can make all the difference to your mood. Whether that’s some soft pretzels from esprovisions.com, a box of your favorite chocolates, or anything else. It’s more than worth the small investment if possible.

Invest in Skin or Hair Care Treats

When we take care of our bodies, we tend to feel better in general. Something as simple as a hair mask, a face mask, a foot mask, or any other novelty skin and hair care treats can greatly improve your sense of wellbeing!

Destress Your Life

It might sound a little bit counterintuitive, but a day of planning and organizing your life can massively destress you. Think about it, how much of your day do you speed thinking about money matters on your advanced home loan calculator? How much do you need to save, and how much debt do you need to pay off to buy that dream home. Instead of stressing about it all the time, earmark one day to organize everything (or maybe one day every month), then, like a tidy kitchen cupboard, you know where everything is.

Sure, these are just a few suggestions. But hopefully a few can really help you out during these trying times!
