How To Get Your Business Noticed Online

Even though there’s now more opportunity than ever to build a business, there’s also far more competition than there’s ever been which makes standing out and getting your business noticed online is somewhat of a challenge. However, whether it’s studying the latest marketing strategies or learning about Brand culture hacks from large brands, there are ways you can successfully ensure you do get your business noticed.

In this post we’re sharing with you just what some of those ways are.

Don’t Accept Sloppy Copy:

The odd typo here and there is certainly forgivable, and then there are times when technology just does whatever it likes and you end up publishing a blog post or sending an email that’s supposed to be personalized, but instead, the reader is met with “Hi, FIRST_NAME” because the merge tag hasn’t been properly activated.

However, if this happens too often or if you’re simply not checking your copy for errors before making it live then people can start to see this as unprofessional and sloppy which makes it less appealing for them to work with you and if you want to stand out and get noticed online, then make sure it’s for the right reasons and not for being seen as someone who’s lazy and doesn’t take pride in their business.

Sell, But Not Too Much:

Selling is crucial to business survival, so you should never feel bad about it.

However, as with everything, know how to sell without being seen as a used-car salesman takes a little bit of thought if you want to get it right.

If you’re looking at your email list or social media following and only thinking about the dollar signs, then you’re getting it wrong. The people in your audience are not there to be sold to, they’re there because they think you have valuable content to share with them and they want to learn from you.

So, if you’re not showing up consistently in their inbox or on their feed with great content, really engaging them and getting to know them, then you’re going to have a very difficult time trying to get them to buy from you when you have something for sale.

Instead, you should be planning out your relationship and authority building marketing content out so that it leads in nicely to your offers when you’re ready to start promoting them.

If you have any evergreen digital products you sell in your business, instead of promoting these randomly, consider putting them into automated funnels for different segments of your audience.

Let Your Personality Shine Through:

People buy from people, so if you want to see results with your marketing efforts, then it’s important that your content is actually showing your personality - not like some boring old content with the personality of a wet mop that you’ve sent out to everyone.

Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through. Sure, not everyone is going to love you, but do you really want them to?

Of course, how you apply your personality to your marketing should always tie in with your brand and your strategy.

Video is a great way to get your personality across and really build a connection with your reader, sharing photos of yourself and even your family if you feel comfortable with this also make a big difference.

If you don’t feel okay with this, then something as simple as just sharing your own experiences.

Speak to people, not at them or down to them if you want them to feel like they can relate to you.
