I was first introduced to ARQUISTE fragrances through a sample in one of my Birchboxes; I actually liked my sample of Flor y Canto so much, I thought about purchasing it (until I saw the $165 price tag). I even took to my Facebook page and jokingly cursed Birchbox for making me desire something so far outside of what my budget (and hubby) will allow for a perfume. {Product provided for review/feature consideration}
Given the time, research, and thought given into each of the six fragrances crafted by architect Carlos Huber, and the evocative experience each one is meant to provide, I can understand the asking price. They truly are luxury fragrances meant to take you to another time and place. So of course I accepted the opportunity to try another fragrance from the brand, ARQUISTE Fleur de Louis, a unisex scent perfect for fall...
According to Carlos Huber, fragrance developer and creator of Arquiste, you may possibly be wearing your fragrance wrong. Depending on your mood or the occasion, whether it’s a special event or just a normal day, you must choose the right fragrance for you. Carlos has 5 helpful rules to wearing a fragrance.
§ Top 5 Rules of Wearing a Fragrance
1. Don’t rub your wrists together. Rubbing your wrists together may bruise the scent molecules, smashing them all down instead of letting them lift off your skin naturally.
2. Splurge on scents that you can wear daily- and on the ones that are special occasions. Quality is quality always!
3. Less is more…and more is more. Depending on what you prefer! There are no written rules.
4. Throw out fragrances when they are more than 3 years old, as their scent can turn and change. Normally a scent kept in stable temperatures and away from light will keep nicely between 2 -3 years.
5. Wear what defines YOU! Don’t let the occasion be the only thing dictating what you may or may not wear.

Carlos likes to wear his new Nanban Fragrance on a day-to-day basis as it makes him feel confident and remembered. Containing ingredients such as black pepper, Persian Saffron, coffee absolute, and Spanish leather, Nanban makes you stand out in a very unique way.
Have you had a chance to experience any of the scents from ARQUISTE (they are available most readily on line, but also in very select retailers worldwide)? Do you consider $165 to be a reasonable investment for such a conceptual, high end, luxury fragrance? What will you be wearing this fall? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and tell me what you think. Until next time...
A pricey cologne. But there's a high end market for them, alike the creeds and the bonds users!
