Get Selena Gomez's VMA Look with John Frieda!

Selena Gomez's Red Carpet look at the 2013 VMA's

What did you think of Selena Gomez's look at last night MTV Video Music Awards? I thought she looked very pretty and while I loved her dress, I think it would've been more palatable had her there been more fabric over her boobie, but that's just me. We may not all be able to afford that gorgeous Versace gown, but we can afford to get Selena's sleek and glamorous hair style! Her hairstylist for the evening, Lona Vigi, let's us know step by step how to create this style at home using John Frieda hair products...

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum and Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme

To begin, Lona combined John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula ($9.99 at drugstores) with Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème ($6.99 at drugstores) to wet hair. This cocktail gave Selena’s hair a silky smooth straight look that not only kept frizz at bay throughout the long night, but also helped to impart a shine that lasts.

Using the Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000, Lona blew Selena’s hair out straight as the base for her style. Lona recommends to flip the hair over and concentrate on drying at the root in order to keep the look from falling.

Sectioning off the hair, Lona then blew each section dry, with an Ibiza round brush to create a little body.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Finishing Creme

After the hair is completely dry, John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Crème ($6.99 at drugstores) was applied to create a silky, shiny finish.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray

Finally, Lona employed her secret weapon for strays and long-lasting finish – Using the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores), spray a small amount on an clean mascara wand and glide over the front sections that frame the face and comb the hair outwards along your part. This is a great trick to rid your look of any stray or fly away hairs.
