My Top 10 Lip Balms!

My Top 10 Lip Balms!

I have a problem... a slight obsession. Some may even call it an addiction...to lip balm! I love them, collect them, stash them, hoard them. Here is a selection of some of my favorites, but I'm always on the look out for more to try and add to my collection!

Lip Smackers SPF 24 Party Pack Lip Gloss - 8 piece set (MSRP $8.79)Though I don't have these in my collection anymore, I had to include Lip Smackers because they started it ALL for me! I buy them for my daughters now and will occasionally swipe some on my pout if one of my own balms is not readily accessible. I particularly like this set because not only does it provide moisture, juicy flavor, sheer color (in certain varieties), but also sun protection! This party pack assortment, plus clipable cap means there's more to share and more to take with you where ever you go. Flavors include: lemon lime rush, kiwi berry crush, strawberry scoop, cherry berry ball, vanilla ice, melon extreme, power punch, and cool strawberry orange.

EOS Lip Balm Spheres (MSRP $2.99) - I'm pretty sure I have EVERY flavor of these little balls of wonder! I LOVE them! They feel so good on the lips, have outstanding staying power, leaves your lips feeling so so soft, taste delicious {I have to hide them from Kenzie because she will literally eat them}, and did I mention they're organic! There is such a wide variety of yummy scents/flavors, I can't list them all, but here are the ones featured in the collage: Lemon Drop with SPF 15, Strawberry Sorbet, Sweet Mint, Medicated Tangerine, Honeysuckle Honeydew, and Summer Fruit just to name a few!

Kiehl's Lip Balm (MSRP $9.00) - I actually featured these in one of my early posts (here), and I still love them. They're more oily, less waxy/buttery than other balms on the lips, which helps them soak into the lips quickly. I find that this type of formula is great for prepping your lips for matte lipsticks {waxy balms sort of resist those and makes them fade much quicker}. There are a variety of packaging options (tube, jar, and stick) as well as flavors, such as mango, cranberry, and mint.

Burt's Bees Lip Care (MSRP $2.99) - This is one that even my lip balm snob hubby can get on board with! A basic, effective lip balm, made with all natural ingredients, perfect for everyone, available in a variety of flavors like: pink grapefruit, mango, honey, pomegranate, and ultra conditioning

Carmex (MSRP $1.30-$1.75) - A classic lip balm, and one EVERYONE should have in their bathroom. I don't know anyone that's not familiar with the tingling sensation you feel when you apply Carmex. At one time, they were only available in a pot and in one formula, but now they've broadened the collection to include not only tubes and sticks, but also new scents/flavors, and formulas!

Smith's Rosebud Lip Balm (MSRP $6.00) - This multipurpose balm can be used for more than just your lips: it can be used on your cuticles, dry elbows, to smooth down eyebrows and flyaways, and more!

Sun Bum Lip Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 30+ (MSRP $3.99) - {I was sent a selection of these to review and swiftly fell head over heels}These are some of the latest additions to my lip balm collection. They deliciously protect your lips from harmful UVA/UVB rays and the drying effects of sun, wind and sea with soothing, nourishing vitamin E, aloe and cocoa butter. Sun Bum lip balms are available in a variety of yummy flavors: original banana, pink guava, mango, coconut, key lime, and pomegranate.

Nivea Lip Balms - Nivea lip balms hold a special place in my heart, because they seem to be the only ones that I'm able to finish from beginning to end {which I discuss here}. Among my favorites: Mint and Minerals, Cherry, Milk and Honey, and the new potted formulas in Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss, Caramel Cream Kiss, and Raspberry Rose Kiss

Maybelline Baby Lips (MSRP $2.99) - These have been a smash hit since their introduction. My daughter is obsessed with them! I like that they have SPF in them {except for the new ElectroPop collection} and the sheer touch of color they add {perfect for makeup beginners}. Because of Peyton's love of Baby Lips, I've actually given her quite a few of mine, but the following remain in my collection: Peach Kiss, Peppermint, Cherry Me, and Grape Vine.

C.O. Bigelow Lip Balms (available at Bath and Body Works) - I always scoop up a few of these when they're buy 2 get 1 free {they average to about $5 a piece when you do that}. I love the Mentha balm featured, as well as My Favorite Lip Balm {which has yummy almond oil}, all the Lemon formulas, and the variety of mint flavored and scented Mentha Lip Shines

So those are just a few of my favorites, but I'd love to know if I've left any of your out. Any recommendations for new ones or oldies, but goodies that I should give a shot and add to my ever growing collection? And if you think I'm exaggerating about my collection/obsession...

My EOS collection...

Everything else (lol)...
Mind you, this does not include the 8-10 tubes that are in my current rotation {I keep them everywhere: in the bathroom, on my nightstand, in all my bags, in the strollers, in the living room, etc}. Plus, I've put myself on a sort of no buy until I use up a few. What can I say, I might be obsessed! Until next time...

  1. Avene cold cream stick lip balm is amazing, very moisturising. Korres lip butters in either the stick or pot are also a favourite. "Yes To" range were bit disappointing-not very long lasting. I love Lip Smackers and Chapstick for stashing everywhere. Yes, I am a fellow lip balm addict.
