November It Girl Box! AKA: My Julep Maven Unboxing

One of the things that I absolutely love about Julep is that the box is PROMPT!!! My It Girl box arrived today. The theme for the month is "Stay Warm in November with Suedes" and of course, "Gratitude."  Honestly, I was tempted to skip this month-I've not been a fan of suede/matte color in the past. But I didn't skip when they wanted to put a crackle polish in my box, so I didn't skip now. Plus I'm trying to be more adventurous with my selections (in general) so I decided to stick with it.

In my box, I received 3 One Step Polish Remover Pads (I'm super stoked for those!), a holiday look book, and these three polishes. I'm not going to lie, the lack of candy in this box was a wee bit disappointing, but c'est la vie! On to the polish...

Hailee

Hailee: in the bottle, it is somewhere between olive and pine green with an intense amount of silver sparkle. On the nail, it appears to be more of steel gray with a slight green tint, and an intense amount of silver sparkle (though, can you really call it "sparkle" if it doesn't actually shine?). It actually goes on quite opaque in one thin coat, and the dry down time is ridiculously quick.

Nora

Nora:(silver, aubergine suede) is a deep purple shade, with the same intense amount of silver glitter. The formula of this one is just like Hailee: opaque in one thin coat, quick drying time, and the abundance of glitter without the sparkle.

Matte Top Coat

Um... it's a matte top coat...

I'll try to figure out a way to incorporate these polishes into my mani's this Fall, but I'm still not quite sure how. Perhaps as an accent nail or as my main shade with an intensely glitterful accent nail (yeah, I said glitterful). One tip though-when going suede/matte, I highly recommend paying close attention to your cuticles (the lack of shine makes dry, haggard, and overgrown appear very prominent) and make sure your hands are adequately moisturized (your hands can't look ashy if your nails do).

I love the quotes included in the Maven boxes. This month's was about being Grateful...

Don't you just love that? Anyway, if you'd like to subscribe to the Julep Maven subscription (which I highly recommend) here is my referral link: http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/60079/ . Until next time...

    1. I know, right! The gift guide is fantastic and the price is right on so many of those gift sets. I'm just waiting for them to include more details on the colors included in the sets. I want some for myself, but want to make sure I don't get any dupes.
