6 Easy Steps for Trying to Conceive

Me while 8 months pregnant with Kenzie :)
Raising children is one of the most difficult yet rewarding jobs a person can ever undertake - and for some, the process of trying to conceive is a difficult task as well. While getting pregnant was a fairly easy thing for me {I happened to get pregnant by accident, I mean, not on purpose, on 3 different occasions}, I do know there are a few things you can do to help the process a bit.

Two of my loin fruit. Aren't they cute!

  1. STOP SMOKING! This is just good for your life and health in general, but it's been proven that smoking cigarettes adversely affects fertility.
  2. Exercise regularly. It's easier to get pregnant if you are at a healthy weight. Plus exercising before and during your pregnancy helps your body bounce back to its pre-pregnancy size quicker.
  3. Take a multivitamin daily. Since folic acid is very important to a healthy pregnancy, why not try a prenatal vitamin that contains the nutrient while trying to conceive? Prenatal vitamins are also great for hair and nail growth and are good for the skin!
  4. Try not to stress out. Life in general is stressful - add to that the struggles of trying to conceive and that stress can be compounded. Find a relaxing pass time, a good listening ear, or go for a run and combine this step with number 2!
  5. Tell your man to put down that edamame! Some studies have shown that soy can decrease sperm count - so it wouldn't hurt to tell him to just say no to soy.
  6. Um... DO IT! Lol. This may be the easiest {and most fun} tip, but really it's the most important. Have fun with each other! Obviously, it's important to have sex while you're most fertile, but having an active {and satisfying} sex life with your partner will definitely help you in the process of trying to conceive. Using a lubricant like Astroglide TTC can not only help while you're TTC, it can also make it more fun!

Astroglide TTC™ is a specially formulated for couples who are trying to conceive. It supports fertility with adjusted pH levels, compatible osmolality and a consistency similar to your body’s cervical mucus. Each package contains 8 pre-filled disposable applicators that make it easy to coat the inside of the vagina, supplementing natural fluids and enhancing comfort. When trying to conceive, it is vital to provide an environment where sperm has a chance of survival. Environmental conditions are affected by pH levels, osmolality (the concentration of substances like sodium and potassium) and the consistency of egg white cervical mucus. While traditional lubricants may affect these conditions and inhibit sperm motility, studies have shown that Astroglide TTC is compatible with sperm, oocytes and embryos and allows sperm to move freely. TTC also contains galactose, which is found naturally in semen, as well as fructose, the main source of energy for sperm.  And like all Astroglide products, TTC also temporarily relieves vaginal dryness during sexual activity.

Lord knows pregnancy and child rearing are not the easiest tasks in the world - but at least trying to make a baby can be fun, and Astroglide TTC can definitely help that!
