Backpack Essentials for a Healthy School Year!

Backpack Essentials for A Healthy School Year!

My girls have been in school for almost a month and a half now, but I still feel like I'm crossing all my t's and dotting all the i's to make sure they have everything they need to be equipped for the day.  These backpack essentials really have helped the whole process of the wonder that is the school day go along smoothly-from beginning to end! {Products sent for review}

As we gear up for back-to-school and try to make sure our kids are best prepared with everything from paper, pencils, and binders, we also need to make sure the kids stay healthy once thrown in to the veritable cootie farm that is the classroom.  So here are a few products that kids should have with them in their backpacks {that will be a bit less obvious than sending them to school in full hazmat gear or a surgical mask and gloves}? Adding just a few extra items to your shopping cart can make a big difference in your child’s education, by cutting down sick days, etc.

·         Halo Sani-Cuffs: When your kids get on the bus for their first day of school so do the germs! Whether in the classroom or on the playground at recess, kids are bound to pick up some germs throughout the day. Instead of worrying about yucky bacteria on their little hands just make sure you are encouraging good hygiene! Halo Sani-Cuffs are comfortable, stylish, and collectible hand sanitizer wristbands that put handy dandy hand sanitizer at arm’s length from your little ones. London loves hers and always makes sure to remind me when to refill it {which is quite easy} when it starts to run low. That reassures me that she is using it {'cause she really wasn't when I just had sanitizer attached to her backpack}!  ($3.99 at www.armorteria.com)

USANIMALS: Usanimals provides one of the best antioxidant complexes available for protection against oxidative stress among supplements for children {I don't know what that means, but I do know that antioxidants are good}. Usanimals also supports healthy growth and development with an excellent range of the essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants your child needs for healthy immune function, energy levels, bone support, and brain development. The formative years of youth is the best time to start establishing healthy eating and exercise habits. And unlike our experience with other vitamins {that would only be ingested after mild threats}, my girls remind me EVERY MORNING that it's time to take their vitamins! They love the yummy berry taste and the cute animals imprinted on the chewable tablets. ($15.35 at www.usana.com)

·         Komplete Ultimate Shakes: Some mornings, there just isn’t enough time for a nutritious breakfast before getting on the bus. If this is a common problem among your kids, try Kate Farms’ Komplete Ultimate Shakes - a line of dairy-free, gluten-free, and soy-free ready to drink meal replacement shakes. Certified made with organic ingredients and blended with antioxidants and 21 Superfoods, this creamy concoction of all natural ingredients will make sure that your little ones are receiving the proper nutrition to stay healthy – and they taste great! ($4.29 at local retailers or online at www.KateFarms.com)

·         Cold-EEZE: Busy schools are the perfect place for colds to rapidly spread. Whether your kids are sharing foods at lunch or toys at recess, it can be all too easy for your child to catch a cold. Make sure to pack Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy to stop colds in their tracks {but only if they are 12 years old and up}. Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy is clinically proven to shorten the duration of a cold by nearly half.  (Available for $6.99 at local drug stores or online at www.coldeeze.com )
